Focus in on ‘Group classes’
FREE 2 hour class offered the 3rd Tuesday of each month at our Meridian office (in suite #1229 in St. Luke’s Meridian). This session is for individuals and families interested in insulin pump therapy and glucose sensor technology. Certified Diabetes Educators, insulin pump, and glucose sensor representatives explain what pump and sensor technology is and who can benefit from it.

Are you struggling to manage your diabetes? Has it been difficult for you to improve your diet and exercise routine? Then this group is for you!
HDC is happy to introduce Walk-n-Talk, a group led by Dr. Amy Walters. Participants meet once a week for 6 weeks and learn how to overcome the emotional and behavioral barriers to diet and exercise habits. Offered at both our Boise and Meridian offices. Billable to insurance and Medicare (Medicaid is not eligible.)

Ideal for newly diagnosed individuals! Clients learn about carbohydrate counting, medications, stress management, exercise, foot care, blood sugar monitoring, hemoglobin A1c and ketone testing, sick day guidelines, goal-setting and self-adjustments for better daily control. Class is offered in four 2.5-hour sessions or over a weekend.

Flexible insulin therapy (F.I.T.) to meet the needs of a busy lifestyle. Designed for individuals taking three or more injections a day. Two 2-hour classes, scheduled one week apart. Offered monthly.

Certified Diabetes Educators teach pregnant women how to keep their blood glucose at normal levels. When a client requires insulin, educators teach self-adjustment strategies. Classes offered Wednesday afternoons at our Meridian office and Thursday mornings at our Boise office. Free blood glucose meter provided.
